He started his career dancing salsa in Los Angeles back in 1987, growing up next to dancers like Rogelio Moreno, The Vazquez brothers and Abel Peña, just to name a few.
Luis moved to Dallas, Texas in 1999 and began teaching SALSA in the North Dallas area. He has taught individuals, groups and corporate groups at the beginner, intermediate and advanced levels in several Dance Styles including Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, Cha-cha-cha, Rumba Cubana and much more…
Luis has taught Salsa at the Hilton Anatole, UTD Dallas, UT Arlington, Texas A&M in Greenville, AT&T Performing Arts Center in Dallas, the Irving Convention Center, Ursuline Academy Of Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Austin, Memphis, Miami, Los Angeles, McAllen, Phoenix, Oklahoma City, San Diego, Seattle, Saint Louis, just to name a few places.
He has trained with Jayson Molina, Francisco Vazquez, Seon Bristol, Eddie Torres, Santo Rico, Salsa y Control, Griselle Ponce, Al “Liquid” Espinoza, Cobo Brothers, Adrian Arellano, Adonis Valle and others.
Luis is the founder of the Dallas Salsa Congress 2006 and ever since has been bringing world-class performers to Dallas. He is also the organizer of the Lone Star Salsa Fest at Cowboys Stadium in 2011, as well as Salsa Conventions in Dallas, Houston, San Antonio, Austin and New Orleans from 2001 to 2006 and I Love Salsa Congress.
He has also organized several concerts including Gilberto Santa Rosa, Frank Reyes, Eddie Santiago, Oscar D’Leon, Gran Combo, Victor Manuelle, Melcochita, Frankie Vazquez, Tito Puente JR, Huey Dunbar, Charanga Habanera, and Xtreme.
Luis began the Guajiro Dance Company in 2001, the performing branch for SalsaDallas.com. He has been teaching students performance Salsa ever since.
