DJ Plaziuz (San Antonio)

Biography:
Homero S. Plaza is a Charismatic, Mexican-born DJ based out of San Antonio, Texas. At age 11, Homero arrived to the United States with a musical background in Mexican folkloric music, and Rock en Español. It was this knowledge and love for music that influenced his path towards developing his DJ Career. Always having an appreciation for music, Homero at the age of 13, started collecting CDs in all genres of music. Before he knew it, he had become the owner of a huge collection of music. Along with his passion for music, Homero was a skillful and talented soccer player. But in 2008, after suffering a second knee injury, he decided that it was time to pursue a new hobby. Being that music was also a passion, it was an easy decision that he was going to pursue learning how to dance. It was in 2010, that he met Lee Rios, and immediately joined Semeneya Dance Studio.

After joining Semeneya, Salsa and Bachata became his new passions, and he immediately began to immerse himself into the unknown world of exploring and collecting Salsa and Bachata music. In 2012, Homero got his first chance to play some music at one of the studios weekly socials, and was able to give it a fresh, and still to this date, unique way of keeping the dancers dancing nonstop. Even though he started with only 30 minute sets every other week at the social, and played from an iPod, after a few months he fell in love with watching people dance and enjoy the music he played.

After only a few months in the dance scene, he became well known amongst the local and out of town dancers, due to his fun, charismatic persona, both on and off the dance floor. It was in 2014 that a huge opportunity arose with the help of two crucial people. He was offered the opportunity to become Semeneya Studio’s Head DJ for their weekly socials, which he gladly accepted. This was Homero”s transition into becoming a DJ, and he began focusing on his passion of collecting and playing music.

In just short of a year, Homero has gained respect, and conquered the Texas salsa scene. He was able to accomplish what usually takes most DJs three to five years minimum, and has garnered immense recognition and success in the State. He has guest DJ’d in many cities across the States, including, Houston, Austin, San Antonio, Dallas, Laredo, Corpus Christi, McAllen, Brownsville, Oklahoma, Midland, Waco, New Orleans, just to name a few.  His unique way of delivering music makes him a perfect DJ to hire for any Congress/Festival/Social or Club. Today he is the most requested Salsa/Bachata DJs in the State of Texas, traveling weekly to DJ at many different locations and events both in and out of state.
