Griselle Ponce, an award winning instructor and role model to the Latin Community, is one of the top New York/New Jersey area dancers and chorographers; needless to say Ms. Ponce was born for the stage. Born, July 7th 1979, Griselle was raised absorbing the sounds that emanated in and around the beautiful island of Puerto Rico. From an early age, Griselle started conquering many talent shows and beauty pageants. Griselle has toured the world extensively nationally and internationally while performing and teaching Salsa in cities and countries such as Italy, Germany, Korea, Israel, the United Kingdom, Argentina, and Mexico just to name a few.

In 2002, Ponce founded her very own Runway On2 Modeling and Dance Studio. After having trained many talented students, Griselle put together an ensemble of her finest students and created her dance company Taimá “Las Hijas del Trueno,” an Afro-Puerto Rican Ballet. Together they deliver some of the most exciting and energetic dance routines around the world. Griselle Ponce has appeared in many magazines such as Nutrivida, FHM, GQ, The Source, Latin Vibe, and LaVoz del Mambo as well as, music videos with Jennifer Lopez, Ashanti, Kinito Mendez, & Don Omar just to name a few. She has also appeared in many festivals performing for artists such as the late Tito Puente, Celia Cruz, La India, Victor Manuelle, Milly Quezada, Jose Alberto “El Canario”, Gilberto Santa Rosa, and the list goes on……..

In December 2005, Griselle released her first instructional DVD titled Ladies’ Styling by Griselle Ponce. The DVD has been enthusiastically received worldwide. Today, Griselle has been spending more time at home after opening her very own dance school “The House of Dance.” Its two important missions are to share Griselle’s passion for the art of dance with the new generation and to serve as an outlet for youths to channel their energy into a positive skill that enriches their cultural identity. Griselle Ponce’s House of Dance NJ is located in Passaic, NJ. The school is geared towards providing artistic talent through a variety of different dance forms, while maintaining a strong commitment to Latin music and community. Griselle teaches dance classes at many local schools and universities. She has developed dance programs and curriculum for children with special needs at several schools in Passaic, NJ, since the summer 2007. This program supports the arts absolutely necessary for a child’s physical, social, intellectual, and emotional development.

To date, Griselle is working on many projects. The House of Dance is expanding its doors and has become accessible globally on line for students, fans, and future affiliates. The projects include, the world-known “Mambo King,” Mr. Eddie Torres. This is just an insight to how Griselle Ponce and Mr. Eddie Torres will continue to mark the salsa world era.
