Jorge Martinez & Maria Catalan (Oaxaca, Mexico)
Jorge Martinez is the principal dancer and director of Salsa Na’ Ma Dance Academy in Oaxaca, Mexico. Salsa Na’ Ma is one of the largest, most recognized dance companies in Mexico. Jorge is both a national and international champion in couples, and group (team) dance routines. He has been an international representative of Mexico in the United States, Canada, Guatemala, Germany, Switzerland, Norway, and Italy, to name a few. Jorge is also the organizer of the Oaxaca Salsa & Bachata Festival. Maria Catalan is a member of Salsa Na’ Ma Dance Company in
Mexico, as well as Jorge’s dance partner. Maria is the Mexican National Champion in Bachata, and represented Mexico at the World Bachata Masters competition in Spain. Together,
Jorge and Maria are the 2016 World Latin Dance Cup Salsa On2 Champions. Maria also was runner up in the 2015 World Latin Dance Cup Bachata Pro Couple Division with then partner,
Oscar Sosa. Most weekends, Jorge and Maria are traveling the world teaching, performing, and competing at Salsa/Bachata Congresses and Festivals around the world.
